Salt Spray Test on Neodymium Magnets: How to Measure Coating Resistance

Neodymium magnets (NdFeB) are the most powerful permanent magnets available on the market thanks to their high magnetic strength; however, this extraordinary power hides a critical weakness: their extreme vulnerability to corrosion. Since they are mainly composed of iron, neodymium, and boron, these magnets tend to oxidize when exposed to moisture and oxygen, degrading and […]

Neodymium Magnet Corrosion Resistance: Coatings and Treatments

Neodymium magnets (also known as NdFeB magnets) are the material that provides the highest available energy density per unit volume. Developed in the early 1980s, they literally revolutionized the global industry thanks to their high magnetic energy density and the possibility of miniaturization. However, these extraordinary components have an inherent limitation: their vulnerability to oxidation. […]

Powerful Industrial Magnets: What They Really Mean and How to Choose Them

Powerful Industrial Magnets: What They Really Mean and How to Choose Them In the modern manufacturing, automation, and automotive landscape, efficiency and miniaturization have become absolute priorities. At the heart of this silent revolution are components that are often invisible but vital: permanent magnets. However, in the B2B context, the concept of “power” is often […]

How to Qualify a Magnet for Mass Production: Process and Documentation

In the modern manufacturing landscape, permanent magnets are no longer considered simple hardware components or standard catalog items. The qualification of magnets for series production represents a fundamental step to ensure that every component complies with the required standards. The efficiency, durability, and safety of the products you bring to market depend directly on their […]

Permanent magnet comparison: NdFeB vs SmCo, how to choose the right material for your application

Permanent magnets are essential components in numerous industrial applications, from high-performance electric motors to precision sensors, up to critical systems in the aerospace sector. The comparison between permanent magnets such as NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) and SmCo (Samarium-Cobalt) is fundamental to identifying the most suitable solution, carefully evaluating magnetic properties, thermal stability, operating conditions, and project costs. […]

How magnets behave under temperature: the relationship between dimensions and operating point

The behavior of a magnet under temperature conditions does not depend only on the material. The same magnetic alloy can behave in very different ways depending on the component dimensions, the geometry of the magnetic circuit in which it is installed, and the operating point occupied by the magnet on the demagnetization curve. Understanding this […]
